The following list is intended to give your Life Group some ideas for service in the local community.  It is not intended to limit your group in any way and there will likely be ideas from members of your own group that are not included in this list.  Please feel free to use any of these opportunities or those generated in your own group.

The Life Center has several opportunities for Life Groups to serve.  You can call them to get ideas or check their web site for an extensive list of opportunities that can be printed out.  Here is an abbreviated list of ideas for your group to serve at the Life Center:

  4. Pregnancy resource centers
  5. Parenting rewards

  7. Food drives in May and August

Bethel’s Fall Festival Booth

Serve with your Life Group in the Bethel Temple Fall Festival Booth in October.  Your Life Group can serve as a team in the Booth and strengthen your bonds as a group while serving our missionaries.  Watch the bulletin and listen for announcements to sign up for this exciting serve opportunity.

The Rescue Mission has a number of service opportunities to serve including serving a meal, clothing donations, sponsor a meal, clothing/food drive, hygiene kit drive, etc.

Other Ideas

  1. For a widow, the elderly, and the poor: clean their yard, mow grass, plant flowers, rake leaves, caulk/repair windows, clean their house, etc.  You may know of someone OR call the church office for a name.
  2. Visit Shut-ins - do house work or yard work.  Call Church office for information.
  3. Get involved in the “Coat a Kid” and “Toys for Tots” programs.  Watch for announcements of these programs in the fall.
  4. Sing as a group in the Saints Alive Choir.

  7. Visit nursing homes.
  8. The Sunday paper will often have in the LIFE section an area titled “You Can Help” that will list donations and volunteers needed for various charities in the community.
